Nerdy Hinnerk Feldmann is unpleasantly impressed, unlike bossy housemate Ina Behrendsen, by their new leading detective, Cluver's successor chief commissioner Carl Sievers, who shuttles by train form big city Kiel to their island Sylt. Next day Gunnar Schneider, a uniformed Kiel PD chief commissioner, is found murdered in a hotel on the island, where 30 000 Euro and a camera holding pictures of gastronome Oliver Kruse are found. Sievers proves himself competent to Hinnerk and Ina but doesn't confide into them about his imposed transfer to Sylt. Suspected drug dealer Kruse may have been blackmailed by Schneider. Sievers finds in Kiel a link to Schneider's deadly hit and run a few months earlier. Pre-teen victim's mother Sandy Freyer is in residential therapy, but disappeared three days ago, probably hiding on Sylt where her wheelchair-ridden sister Pia Freyer lives.
