With this new installment of the series, we see a more effective push towards the themes and characters originally associated with the star wars movies. They did a few things right with this one...such as killing off the main emperor guy that was blocking the screen with the parallelism of the first main emperor guy. It had more "star warszy" moments, such as the kid looking at the moon at the end. The Last Jedi made some characters more appealing, while destroying preconceived notions about beloved old characters. The movie, however, was not without its cringe scenes. Princess McFloaty gave new meaning to our idea of stupid by using the force to bring herself back to the ship.....horrible actor....I'm sorry... there are those that still believe in the character, but years of cocaine use was not kind to her. Milk drinking Luke and his hermit life style, again mimic the original series. I was glad to see Yoda made an appearance...another small starwarzy moment. ...all in all, they fixed somethings and destored others. Better than the force awakens....but still not good enough to be considered a star wars movie.......maybe they will get it right after "67 portions!"
