Jerry Butler got into the adult business in New York in 1981, after finding only limited success attempting a mainstream acting career. Jerry went on to win multiple adult film awards in the 1980s, and appeared in a few mainstream films along the way. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, having a tumor removed, but a few months later, the cancer had spread and he died in Brooklyn at age 58.
